Dad’s Garage Theatre
Inman Park
280 Elizabeth Street, Suite C-101
Bacon lovers, rejoice! BaconFest, the wildly popular annual event benefiting Dad’s Garage, is scheduled to descend upon the thriving mid-size theatre’s home turf in Inman Park on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Attracting more and more bacon, beer and music lovers every year, BaconFesters are invited to enjoy copious (we’re talking 1,000 lbs.!) amounts of delicious bacon compliments of Vortex Bar & Grill and cooked by the local grill masters at DBA Barbeque, cold beer, nonstop entertainment and an expansive silent auction. Selling out every year, all proceeds benefit Dad’s Garage; a nonprofit theatre that engages, cultivates and inspires artists and audiences alike by producing innovative, scripted and improvised works that are recognized locally, nationally and internationally for being undeniably awesome.
Founded in 2000, the kitschy festival has become a fixture in the Atlanta community by combining troughs upon troughs of cold beer and sizzlin’ bacon with live performances by four favorite local bands; hilarious carnival games manned by the best improvisers in the city; and unforgettable entertainment like a drunken spelling bee, crowning of bacon king and queen, and more.
Also returning to BaconFest this year is the “Go Whole Hog!” VIP ticket option that gives festival goers exclusive access to a whole pig roasted by the critically acclaimed BBQ masters at P’cheen International Bistro & Pub and delicious specialty brews. Additionally, local businesses like Whynatte and Diesel Filling Station have jumped on board to provide tastings and special offerings for attendees.
Tickets start at $25 and are on sale now for ages 21 and up.
Dad’s Garage is offering three ticket options for the 12th annual BaconFest:
- Portioned Porking ($25 online): Admission to the festival, 5 game tickets, and three cups full of beer, bacon or both.
- Bottomless Bacon ($45 online): Admission to the festival, unlimited game playing, and unlimited beer and bacon.
- Go Whole Hog!: Still not enough swine? For $40 more, attendees can upgrade from ‘Bottomless Bacon’ and ham it up with some serious style by getting access to whole pig roasted to perfection by P’cheen International Bistro & Pub, several kegs of specialty beer, and some exotically flavored bacon. Whole Hoggers also get a special BaconFest t-shirt!
BaconFest will held outside in the parking lots of Dad’s Garage Theatre in Inman Park. The event will be held no matter rain or shine for ages 21 and up. Attendees are encouraged to take MARTA.
