The Georgia Renaissance Festival is an art and entertainment festival combining outdoor theater, circus-style entertainment, and an arts and crafts marketplace, all set in a recreation of a 16th-Century European village.
Our 29th annual season opens April 19 through June 8, 2014, Saturdays and Sunday. The gates open at 10:30am and close at 6pm.
Founded in 1985 on 20 acres of land, the Georgia Renaissance Festival has grown into a 100- acre theme park filled with charming cottages and castles, kitchens and pubs, and an unusual collection of people-powered rides and games of skill – all just minutes south of Atlanta, Georgia.
The Georgia festival is the largest Renaissance festival in the Southeast. Over 100 artisans display and demonstrate their wares in our Artisan Market, and we present a continuous schedule of music, comedy, juggling, and amazing feats of skill on 10 stages every festival day. There truly is something for adults and children of all ages – all day long!
One of the highlights of any festival day is the Jousting Tournament. Visitors can experience the clashing of steel and the thundering of hooves daily with three full combat jousts at the King’s Tournament Arena.
Renaissance festivals are one of the most interactive entertainment shows ever created with wonderful amusements and antics ongoing all around you! You can sit back and watch, or become part of the action. The village lanes are full of costumed characters – royalty, peasants, and street entertainers – all ready to surprise and delight you with tall tales, songs, jokes and tricks.
