Piedmont Park Arts Festival – Hula Hoop World Record Attempt August 17th-Atlanta

400 Park Drive Northeast,
Atlanta, GA 30309

Join the Piedmont Park Arts Festival and HoopEssence in an attempt to break the world
record for longest chain of people to pass a hula-hoop, benefitting Embraced Atlanta. Can’t
hula hoop? Not a problem! There is no hula hooping skill required in order to be a park of
the world record attempt. Almost everyone has done a hula-hoop pass like this before in
gym class. If you haven’t, we promise it’s easy! We need about 500 people to break the record, so
bring your friends and family out for a chance to break a world record for a great cause!

Join HoopEssence after the world record attempt for an all ages hoop jam in the park! Bring your
own hoop or borrow one from us.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We will create a large circle of people around the
Active Oval at Piedmont Park. Everyone will hold
hands as the hula-hoop is passed from person to the next.
One trick is to step through the hulahoop with one leg, pass is over your own head, step through with the other leg and pass it along to the next person without breaking the chain. This pass is a lot of fun and very simple to execute.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Registration to participate in the world record attempt will take place at the HoopEssence
booth (blue and white striped tent) at the festival on Saturday, August 17 to 3:00 PM. The attempt will take place at 4:00 PM at the Active Oval. Further instructions will be provided upon registration. Participants are asked to give a small donation.
Participants must be 8 years or older or be accompanied by an adult.

Proceeds from the attempt will be donated to Embraced Atlanta. Embraced Atlanta is a
non-profit organization that collects and redistributes gently used orthopedic equipment
to individuals in need. For more information about Embraced Atlanta, please visit http://www.embracedatlanta.com.
