Tellus Science Museum- I-75 Exit 293, Cartersville, Georgia 770-606-5700 (Family)

This week is all about family events. Places families can enjoy. So grab the kids and cherish some family time.

The moment you walk into Tellus Science Museum, you are greeted by a huge dinosaur that will amaze you! Tellus,a world class museum, is filled with areas to explore and learn about the Earth and the stars! Located in Cartersville,Ga, this 120,000 square foot museum, built on the former site of the Weinman Mineral Museum, is sure to impress the kid in any adult and is well worth the drive! If you missed out on learning science as a kid, here is another chance! Each exhibit is sure to excite you!

The Tellus Science Museum featured exhibits are:

The Fossil Gallery- Experience the start of life through the stories of dinosaurs. You can also touch a real dinosaur fossil and measure your height amongst the tallest creatures to ever roam Earth!

The Weinman Mineral Gallery- Be amazed by the displays of minerals from all over the world, including some from the Moon and beyond.

Science in Motion-The history of motorized transportation is featured in this exhibit. A replica Wright Brothers flyer, a 1948 Bell 47 helicopter, a jet cockpit and more are displayed for your enjoyment.

Planetarium and Observatory- Become an amateur astronomer in the observatory housed on the Tellus campus.

Collins Family My Big Backyard- Just for kids! Play, Experiment and Learn how the world works. Discover the science behind light, sound, electricity, weather and more in this interactive, engaging gallery.

Vulcan Material Company Gem Panning- Here you can search for precious gems 

Fossil Dig- Have fun uncovering ancient bones in the fossil dig
